Rebel Juju

Rebel JuJu is a bold, unapologetic, sexy, and imperfect artisan vintage style born from the recreation of cast off elements into one of a kind fashion, jewelry and home accessories.

Objects… things… bits of this and that, items that have histories rich with stories and experiences. Rebel JuJu’s designs are a unique interpretation of these stories imbued with energy and talent creating art from that which was once lost and forgotten. Whimsical and downright funky, her creations are an enchanted mix of texture and color, weathered and inconsistent in the prettiest of ways. They are puzzles pieced together from a myriad of antique remnants and ghosts of the past. JuJu does not play by conventional style rules.

Perhaps that’s why they call her a rebel…

Crafting was always something my mother and sisters did together. When my children were young , I continued to teach and create with them and my grandchildren.

It has been a natural progression for me to always learn and create. Whether it be string beads, playing with polymer clay and experiences with metal clay and kiln work, then on to metalsmithing. Still today, I incorporate most of these skills in many of my designs.

I design the old fashion way. Sketching, precise measurements, (I never thought I would use Pi), transferring to metal, sawing, filing, shaping with hammers. Most of the tools I use are the same tools used today by some of the best Native Americans who have been metalsmithing for generations.

One of my favorite things to do is to collect beautiful stones. I research the quality and regions in which they mined and in doing so experience a network of passionate artists. It has also led me to many friendships with artisans and stone cutters from this country and all over the world.

This journey continues now with many skills to learn and some that I will pass along by teaching in my studio here at Unfiltered. I hope you will join us on our journey.

Much love and kindness,

Danya Gomez

MilkiiWay Macrame

I’m Danya Gomez, the artist behind MilkiiWay Macrame.  I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan.  In 2013 I relocated to central Florida with my husband.  In the fall of 2014 we settled in Bartow, and I gave birth to our son in 2015.  In the spring of 2018, after a few years primarily as a stay at home mom, I decided I needed to pick up a hobby to keep myself occupied while my little one napped.  In my early teen years I made hemp necklaces which just so happened to consist of the same basic knots as in the art of macrame.  After some research, I bought a few supplies and learned a few more knots.  I enjoyed this creative outlet so much that I decided to start selling it.  After a few months of finding my style and working on custom orders, I started participating as a vendor for makers markets and continue to seek local opportunities to display and sell my artwork and jewelry.  I primarily work with cotton cord, driftwood, metal hoops and crystals to make simple yet beautiful pieces to adorn your home.  My intention is to bring boho vibes and beauty to your life with this ancient art form, which dates back to the 13th century.  Follow my instagram for updates on my current works in progress @milkiiwaymacrame.

Jaz Shelley

Design by Jaz Jewelry

I am an artist. I have a unique vision of what I see and feel with each of my creations. I have been in the beauty industry for over 25 years as a stylist and former photography makeup artist. I studied fashion merchandising/design and studied art under a Florida Master Artist.

Then One day…..

I was researching Victorian era art, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and specific artists and jewelry makers from those time periods, such as Mucha, Neiger Brothers, and Henri Vever. I also have a tremendous respect for the artist of former Bohemia.
I was studying specific time periods, and I felt nervous about how to be true to a specific time period — then I realized I could blend these time periods together and create my own genre.
I love the beauty, seductiveness, and femininity portrayed within these time periods.
I decided to create a bold yet feminine line of jewelry perfect for the quintessential Goddess. Design by Jaz fuses beauty, seductiveness, and femininity with vintage styling. The end  result is a unique Design by Jaz that connects past with present

It turns out…

It took more time and energy than I imagined, because I wanted to be sure I created the perfect depiction for my ideal customer, a powerful and feminine woman.

But then…

After 100s of hours of research, many mistakes, and connecting with high-quality suppliers, I knew I had found the perfect combination for the Mystique Goddess Signature Line.
Before finally launching, there were trials and tribulations, as we’ve all experienced. Even so, we released our Signature Line and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
