About Unfiltered

This isn’t so much a story about us but our founder and owner, Geanie Folder. The beautiful spirit that fuels Unfiltered.

Geanie grew up traveling around the country in the back of a beat-up station wagon. She was homeschooled on the road. Literally. She often sang for her family’s supper by belting out Delta Dawn in the town’s most colorful night spots. A good night of tips would buy them enough ingredients for 5 days’ worth of soup. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Now before you go thinking this upbringing was something out of the Great Depression, Geanie learned a lot of lessons on those roads, and not just the ones that came out of her beat-up old school backpack.

She found her American dream.  She found it in the homeless man who offered her his last can of beans, as well as all of the other beautifully broken people she met along the way.

Geanie eventually found a home for her and her own family, and created a second home for people who weren’t necessarily born on third base, or ever thought of themselves as part of the so-called in-crowd. No, this is a place for the unconventional, the unusual, the uninhibited, This is their home, and maybe yours too.
